ZDK-03 AEW&C Karakoram Eagle

ZDK-03 AEW&C during its first ever ferry flight to Pakistan in November '2011. As of March 2015, 3 out of 4 such aircraft are in operational service with PAF.

ZDK-03 is an export version of KJ-200 AWACS system specifically developed for the Pakistani Air Force. This project was initiated in the early 2000. The design is based on the new Y-8 Category III Platform featuring WJ-6C turboprops with 6-blade propellers and Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar which gives 360° coverage. PAF ordered 4 of such systems in 2009, which worth $278m.


ZDK-03 AEW&C Karakoram Eagle has single active electronically steered array radar from the Chinese KJ-2000 which is mounted on a turboprop-powered Y-8F600 in a rotating rotodome.ZDK-03 has a speed of Maximum speed: 660km/h (357 knots, mph) and a range of 5,615km (3030nm, mi)
